  • At times, deep tissue techniques can have a more intense sensation but shouldn’t be outright painful. It’s important that we work within your levels of comfort so the techniques can be endured for the most optimal treatment benefits.

In areas that are really tight or restricted, the sensation of deep tissue techniques may feel more intense but also incredibly satisfying and relieving. It’s important that there is open communication between the therapist and client to be sure the level of depth is within your tolerance zone. Your RMT will ALWAYS work within your happy medium of therapeutic pressure!

  • After a deep tissue massage, you’ll probably feel like a lighter, more relaxed version of yourself—kind of like you’ve just hit the reset button. Your muscles might be a bit tender or sensitive for a day or so, especially if we worked on some really tight or stubborn spots, but that’s totally normal. It’s just your body’s way of saying, “Thanks for the workout!”

Most people notice they move more easily and feel less tension creeping around afterward. You might also feel calmer and more grounded, like your body and mind finally got a chance to catch up with each other.

So give yourself some time to soak it in, hydrate, and enjoy that refreshed, ready-to-roll feeling.

  • Yes, deep tissue massage can be a great part of recovering from an injury! It helps by gently breaking up tight muscles and scar tissue that might be holding you back, improving blood flow to the area so your body can heal more efficiently.

That said, it’s usually best to combine deep tissue massage with other treatments—like physiotherapy—to make sure you’re addressing the root cause of the injury and building a solid plan to get you back to feeling your best.

Your RMT will work with you to figure out what your body needs and tailor the treatment so it supports your recovery safely and effectively.

  • Everyone’s body is different, so the number of deep tissue massages you need really depends on your unique situation. Some people notice relief after just one session—especially if it’s a mild or recent issue. For others, especially with longer-standing tension or injuries, it might take a few sessions spaced out over a few weeks to really feel a lasting difference.

Remember, deep tissue massage works best when combined with smart self-care between treatments, like stretches or posture tweaks. That combo is where the magic really happens!

Your RMT will help guide you on the best plan to get you feeling great as quickly and safely as possible.

let’s talk about a treatment plan.

Before each session is our time to check in and connect with how you’re really feeling. Through assessment tools and communication, we cover health history, symptoms + your current treatment goals.

Checking in as we go, we will always work within your boundaries, comfort zone and consent. Ready to adjust our depth of pressure and communicate with you through any “hot spots” that may have more intense sensations from focused and deeper work.
